AYSO family,
Below is the information for our fundraiser this Spring—we have a short 2 1/2 weeks to get orders from family, friends, and neighbors for this Tebbs Greenhouse fundraiser. But it might be good to explain briefly why we do fundraisers since we are a nonprofit, non-salaried, volunteer organization.
- this Spring, we are working on bids to re-gravel the Jones field parking lot (or "Jones lake," depending on recent rainfall)
- we have to mow and maintain the grass, our biggest continual expense
- we regularly replace equipment—and we have to save up money for when goals need to be replaced because they are quite expensive
- we order many boxes of paint for the fields every year
- we would like to provide more youth referee scholarships and other forms of thank you gifts for our volunteers; they can't be paid, but they can be thanked!
- we would like to do more outreach to give more kids the opportunity to try soccer and have fun on the fields
Registration covers many of those expenses, but since we keep registration as low as possible (to make sure every child who wants to can play), we have to do fundraising to invest more in the region or our fields.
The Tebbs fundraiser requires a quick turn-around time, but they have changed their system so that we can get even more donation dollars from each purchase. How do you do your part?
- Download and print the attached order form, get a copy from the waterproof folders at Jones or Metzger sheds, or download and print from our website
- Pull up the Tebbs Fundraiser website on your phone (or computer): https://www.tebbsfarms.com/springfundraiser
- Talk to friends, family, and neighbors who might like to get some beautiful Spring plants, or who would like to support soccer—or both! Show them the options on the Tebbs site through the link.
- Possibly email or text the link with a message to friends, family, or neighbors ahead of time—see the suggested message below that you could copy and paste
- Record the names, contact information, and order details on the form provided, total each person's order, and collect cash or check payment from them. Checks should be made out to "AYSO Region 293"—Remember to put your name/your player's name and team on the order form and make a copy/take a picture for yourself!
- Orders are due by April 24. Put the order form, cash, and checks in an envelope, seal it, and drop it off to a board member:
- Joshua Hill (at Metzger 15U Field Mon/Thurs 5:30)
- or Samantha Morgan (Jones, April 23 6:00)
- or Spencer Matter or Tasha Matter (at Metzger 12U Field, Tues/Thurs 6:00)
- or Matthew Vanaskie (at Metzger 12U Field, Mondays 6:00)
- If you cannot get the envelope to a board member, give it to your coach to pass it on to us or email [email protected] to arrange for a drop-off.
- We will pick up the vouchers from Tebbs for the specific plants your family and friends ordered and get them to you through your coaches.
- You would then distribute the vouchers to those who ordered them, and they can pick up their plants at Tebbs Farms and Greenhouses on 1620 Four Mile Drive between May 1 and May 25.
To re-emphasize, with Tebbs's new fundraising system, we no longer pick up the plants and distribute them to people. We pick up vouchers and distribute them to people who them pick up the plants at their leisure. See below for an email/text message that you could copy and paste.
Thank you for your help with AYSO!
