REFEREE TRAINING CHECKLIST
Without Volunteer Referees There Are No Games
The referee's job is to be the official in charge of the game. A referee's authority extends to everyone at the field, including players, substitutes, team officials, spectators, and even assistant referees. AYSO referees keep the game safe, fair and fun for everyone: the players, the coaches, the spectators, and themselves!
YOUTH REFEREES WELCOME!
Youth referees can officiate games where they are +2 years older than the division they are overseeing. It's an excellent opportunity for older players to add to their AYSO skill set and give back to the organization. We also encourage youth referees to join together on the field - one as the main referee and up to 2 others as linesmen to watch for out of bounds and goals.
